What’s Cooking at OTR This Year

This year we plan on focusing our attention on 3 main areas for our junior players:

Mental Toughness – Example: An Essay by Tim Lam, An ELITE OTR Member.
Physical Fitness – Check out the results from our latest fitness evaluations.
Match Play – Example: Match Analysis Form. Check out our ladder rankings.

Mental Toughness we, possibly inspired by the film Coach Carter, have set some essays for our players to write about tennis. We have also tried to encourage our juniors to bring notebooks to their lessons. So far, with the exception of a few early complaints from the kids, we have had only encouraging, honest, positive feedback from these essays.

We will continue asking the juniors to think about the game of tennis this year in the hope that these thoughts will eventually be reflected in their performances on the match court.

Physical Fitness – We have brought in a personal fitness trainer, Jim Corrigal, for our Saturday afternoon High Performance juniors. Jim will also be helping us to monitor fitness levels of our Elite students and is available for private or semi-private sessions. Bookings can be made through Jason Sankey or Adrian Montisenos.

Match Play We have set up a ladder which will go all the way through this year. Rules and regulations have been designed and decided by OTR coaches and will be explained during group sessions to students.

To begin the year, the OTR coaches have seeded players in the ladder group.
